The Big Smoke

Went to the big smoke this weekend. I had a designy thing to go to on Thursday, to my glorious surprise I ran into my super duper friend. I stayed with her that night. Then in the morning, with step-by-step directions from her, I got on a bus, then a sky train, then another sky train and got to my brother's house. It is close to my mom's birthday, she came down from PR, we had a bit of a celebration for her. I never get to see them, it was fun hanging with my sister in law and my little niece. I got to sleep in her room, until she realized I was in there with her (she's just over a year). She was trying to play with me (at like 2 in the morning) when I wouldn't play with her she spazed. So I went to sleep with my mom (who I didn't sleep with initially because she snores like a freight train). Anyway we did a bunch of stuff the next day then I navigated two more sky trains and my lovely other friend picked me up. We went to her place in Surrey (yeow), went to dinner at a local pub (shared a pitcher and a appy platter, we're such classy dates). Got a movie and fell asleep on the couch. When we got up in the morning and we read magazines in bed, we're SO girly. We also exchanged late Christmas presents, she got me the very whorey lipgloss I'm wearing in this picture, I LOVE it! Then we went to New West and had brunch with her man and a friend, then it was back to the ferry. It was the super crap ferry, oh well. I ran into my neighbor, he drove me home so it was all good!

Ugly Sweater Party

So I went to a 30th birthday party last night. It was a ugly sweater party. It was fantastic. The sweaters were such an ice breaker. Maybe I'll throw a ugly panties party next.

Snowzilla

Okay, I almost died today. Well maybe not die, but hurt anyway. So I left for work this morning and someone from work was picking me up. It snowed a tiny bit last night but i wore my hiking boots and jeans anyway (good look, I know). There were clear blue skies. SO we start driving and it's like a blizzard all of a sudden, so much snow. So, of course we hit a hill going down and around a corner and we start sliding. We hit the sidewalk barrier and get stuck. Which sucks but no big deal. So I get out of the car to see what road we're by for the tow truck and another car starts sliding, we had to run out of the way so we wouldn't get hit. Luckily our knight in a shiny red Subaru (a guy from work) just happened to be going by. So he picked us up and drove us to a restaurant for brunch. What can I say, it's a snow day, we must brunch!

2007 = Greatness

So word on the street is that it is the year of Sagittarius (by street I mean Monday Magazine's year horoscope). The first week has been pretty fantastic. Except for the three day hangover, but even that was worth it. So everything is supposed to work out for me and I'm going to have some money coming my way. I have a feeling the money might just be me actually saving some. We'll see if that happens. And I get to turn 30! Wee Hee.
